Daily update is a type of notification that displays the status of an ongoing action or activity. For example, a daily update might notify users that their package is on its way or provide current weather conditions.
When a user invokes one of your Action’s intents that you have configured as a daily update, the system scene runs and displays the status of your action to the user. The user can then tap a daily updates subscription prompt to subscribe. This prompt is typically offered mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip when the user exits your Action successfully. If you choose to include a daily updates subscription flow in your Action, make sure it makes sense for the user. Show them the benefit of your Action before offering the option and personalize their updates. Avoid repetitively suggesting to subscribe in other contexts, and keep your dialog short after triggering the daily updates intent.
To test daily updates, use a Google Assistant-enabled device (such as a phone or speaker) and invoke your Action with the daily updates intent. Check your device’s notifications around the time you configured for your daily updates to be triggered.
